The ARTDOGS is organized on the belief that the arts are vital to the cultural and economic health of a community. ARTDOGS is devoted to developing a core community of artists in downtown Gardiner Maine. The intent is to create and maintain a visual arts presence. 277 Water Street was purchased in June, 2004 for this purpose. The building has been renovated to house one artist's studio-residence and six artist's studios. Renovations continue with the intent of creating a cooperative fine art press and a community workshop space for the arts. The ARTDOGS |

An exciting and innovative fundraiser for the new Circling the Square Fine Art Press in Gardiner will take place on May 16th from 5:30-8:30pm during the Artwalk Gardiner spring celebration. ApronArt is a collaborative fundraising project created by fiber artist Ellen Roberts of Farmington and printmaking artist Karen Adrienne of Gardiner. Each tyvek apron created is a one of kind original monotype print. The aprons are $21.00 and all proceeds will go to support the press during the sale that evening. The mission of the press is to bring fine art printmaking and creative opportunities to Central Maine. The label for the ApronArt reflects the upbeat, imaginative spirit of these two artists.

| Artwalk Gardiner is back for 2008. Artwalks will be held on May 16th, August 15th, and December 5th - 5:30pm to 8:30 pm. If you are an artist interested in participating, please contact The ARTDOGS at 207-583-6600. May 16 Artwalk mini-exhibit will be at the A1 To Go the week before, and there will be a seedling sale in conjunction the evening of the walk. Come rain or shine. |
